Funeral Services for Henry M. Fliehler, 49, were held Wednesday in the Masonic temple, conducted by the Rev. Whitmore Beardsley of the Congregational church, and the Rev. James C. Gable of the Methodist church. Clarence Moser and Harold Campbell were the honorary guards. The pall bearers were: L. D. Davis, D. G. Courtnage, L. J. Schmidt, G. E. Dunfrund, H. J. Esch and J. J. Matthews.
The Elkader drum and bugle corps and the local Auxiliary attended in a body. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery, with military services at the grave. Mr. Fliehler, who died at the veterans' hospital, Des Moines, Monday, was born at St. Sebald, June 10, 1886. On Nov. 28, 1910, he was married to Cassy Hughes at Marion. He spent eleven months overseas during the World War. He was a member of the Masons, the American Legion, and the Elkader drum and bugle corps. Surviving are his wife, three brothers, Will and Charles of Strawberry Point, and Gus of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Bartels of Strawberry Point and Mrs. Richard Oldfather of Arlington; and four children, Raymond, Jack, Almon and Emogene, all of Strawberry Point.
