The death of Gus Frye occurred Thursday evening at his home south of town, following a heart attack. Short funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Gill Chapel, conducted by Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Methodist church, after which the body was taken to Greeley, where services were held in the Christian church, and interment was made.
Gus Frye was born at Greeley, Iowa, Nov. 18, 1892. In Nov. 1916 he was united in marriage to Miss Golda Troupe of Strawberry Point, where they have since resided. To this union ten children were born, one daughter, Deena Ann, preceding her father in death. Surviving are his widow and nine children; Mrs. Irene Lincoln, Robert, Frances, Marguerite, Lennie, Donald, Melvin, Ralph and Leo; his father, Lewis Frye, of Greeley; one brother, Fred Frye, of Manchester; and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Schram of New York.
