Funeral services were held in Strawberry Point last Monday afternoon for Fred A. Smith, who had died at his home there last Saturday following a short illness of pneumonia.

Services were held in the Congregational church, conducted by the Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Methodist church, and burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born at Elkader, February 8, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Sr., and so at the time of his death had reached the age of 61 years, one month and 15 days.

In November, 1897, he was married to Freda Feldman of this place, who, together with their daughter, Mrs. Reese Thomas, survives, as do one sister and two brothers, namely, Mrs. Fred Davis of Strawberry Point, L. D. Smith of Elkader, and George Smith of New York City.

The deceased was a member of the Congregational church of Strawberry Point, and the Yeoman lodge.
