Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Walters were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conduced by Rev. J. P. Gable, pastor of the M.E. church. Interment was made in Mt. Harmony cemetery near Elkport.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Walters were held at the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. P. Gable, pastor of the M.E. church. Interment was made in Mt. Harmony cemetery near Elkport.
Elizabeth Laxson, the last of a family of six children, daughter of Wm. and Mary Laxson, was born in McKees Rock, Penn., on Nov. 28, 1854. at an early age she moved with her parents to a farm near Elkport, where she grew to womanhood.
On May 13, 1874, she was married at Elkader to Alexander C. Walters. They made their home on a farm near Elkport for 22 years, and five years they lived near Greeley, after which they moved to a farm east of Strawberry Point. In 1922 they moved to town. Mr. Walters passed away Oct. 14, 1923.
Five of the six children survive: Mrs. Mary Hennessey of Guttenberg; Mrs. Stella Wathen of Garber; Charles Walters of Kingfisher, Okla.; William Walters and Ray Walters of Strawberry Point.
One son, Howard, preceded his parents in death.
Besides the children there are three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Walters was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Rebekah lodge.
