Notes: 1940 census - He is divorced & living in the household of Fritz Klinkenberg, Farmersburg twp. Working as hired hand. He had been married to Ida (Voelz) Gilster in 1929. The 1930 census enumerated August & Ida, and her 3 children in Farmersburg twp. This census appears to indicate a previous marriage for him at age 30. His 1942 WWII draft registration card states he is an "inmate county home".
