Clayton County Register, Thur., 7 Feb. 1935.
After an illness of less than a week, Lloyd Edward Dill died in a Rockford, Ill., hospital, a victim of pneumonia and scarlet fever, on January 27th.
The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Dill, and was born here in Elkader on March 18, 1912. He reached the age of 22 years, 10 months and 9 days at the time of his death.
For a number of years Lloyd had made his home with his sisters in Rockford, where he was employed. Just two weeks ago he paid his parents a visit here and at that time, apparently, was in the best of health.
He leaves to mourn his sudden departure, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Dill, and the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Charles Stendel of Elkader; Mrs. Raymond Reynolds of Mason City; Mrs. Oscar Hill, Mrs. Robert Anderson and Leon W. Dill, all of Rockford, Ill.; Elmer Dill of Joliet, Ill.; Mrs. Don Gair of Florida; and Elsie, at home. Two brothers preceded him in death, dying in infancy.
Funeral services were held from the Friedens Evangelical church here last Wednesday afternoon, and burial was made in the Cox Creek cemetery, the Rev. P. Kitterer officiating.
