August Nodurft was born at Platteville, Wisconsin, July 5, 1859, and passed away at his home in Strawberry Point, Thursday, Jan. 3, 1935. On December 18, 1884, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Frederick. To this union were born three children: William C. Nordurft, Edgewood; Mrs. C. E. Hartman, Manchester; and W. H. Willert, Cedar Rapids. On December 16, 1934, the golden wedding was celebrated at their home with the children, grandchildren and the great-grandchildren, also the close relatives present. Besides his wife and three children he is survived by fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, also one brother and three sisters: William Nodurft, Strawberry Point; Mrs. George Otdoerfer, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Lena Gregory and Mrs. Martin Longhenry of Platteville, Wis. Funeral services occurred Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran church conducted by the pastor, Rev. M. O. Jahr. The pallbearers were George Nordurft, Herman Otdoerfer, William Waring, George Kramer, W. A. Frederick and Louie Frederick. Interment was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
