Services were held Monday at the Methodist church at two o'clock for Mrs. Amy McAleer, 72, who died Friday, Nov. 25, at the Donald Woods home near Maynard, where she had been cared for during her last illness. The Rev. Leslie J. Faris, pastor, had charge of the service.
Amy Humphreys, daughter of George and Sarah Evitt Humphreys, was born in Liverpool, England, on Oct. 8, 1877. She grew to young womanhood and was married to Harry McAleer, an Irish fusilier. Mrs. McAleer had made her home in the vicinity of Volga ever since. For a number of years she was housekeeper for the late William Bennington. Her son George and his wife, the former Ruth Woods, have made their home in Chicago, where George has been employed since 1922.
Besides her son and daughter-in-law, she is survived by two grandsons, Eugene and George Jr. McAleer, and two great-grandchildren, Patricia Ann and John Joseph McAleer, all of Chicago.
Her husband, parents, one sister and one brother preceded her in death.

Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.
