Arno George Kurdelmeier was born in Read township, Clayton county, Oct. 13, 1903, and died of an accidental gunshot wound he received while hunting near Gunder Saturday morning, Sept. 17.
He served in the army air corps at Will Rogers Field, Oklahoma, for six months and was a member of the Amvets and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center, where he was baptized and confirmed.
He received his education in the Hope rural school at Farmersburg and was engaged in farming, living at St. Olaf at the time of his death.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Caroline Kurdelmeier; three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Whittle, and Mrs. Cora Wagner, Monona, and Mrs. Roselyn Liddy, Littleport; and one brother, William, of Farmersburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Kurdelmeier, in 1935.
Funeral services were held from the Witt funeral chapel and Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center on Sept. 19, and burial was in the Zion Lutheran cemetery, the Rev. J. H. Zerhusen officiating. Pallbearers were: Arno Huebner, Arthur Glawe, Herbert Mueller, Reuben Glawe, Ewald Fascher and Delbert Miller.
