The death of Mary E. Conboy, 82, occurred Monday, August 1, at 1 a.m. at her home following a long illness.
As Mary Elizabeth Roach, she was born March 27, 1867, at Boston, Mass., the daughter of John and Mary Fitzgerald Roach. At an early age she came to Iowa with her parents.
In June, 1885, she was married to John Rinkert. They farmed in the surrounding community and later were in business in Volga. Two children, Lew and Grace, were born to them. Mr. Rinkert died in 1929 and Lew in 1918.
In January, 1933, she was married to Michael J. Conboy, who survives together with their daughter, Mrs. Grace Ryan of Oelwein, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. A brother, Pat Roach of Eagle Grove, and a sister, Mrs. Hannah Krieg, preceded her in death.
Services were held Wednesday at 10 o'clock at Sacred Heart church, with the Rev. W. Kress of Strawberry Point, celebrant of the requiem high mass, who also officiated at the graveside. Casket bearers were Peter Wolf, Frank Phillips, Wm. Wenger, Andrew Cox, Michael Martin and Delos Crain. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Volga.
