Funeral services for Mrs. Walter Matt, 57, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Don Uriell, Saturday, July 16, after an illness of six months, were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, in St. Mary's Catholic church, McGregor. The Rev. Father Vernon Peters officiated. Burial was in the Garnavillo Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Walter Matt was born April 29, 1892, at National, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Berns.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Cyrill at home and Harold of Postville; a daughter, Mrs. Don Uriell of Monona; three brothers, Albert of National, Alex and Linus of Monona; and one sister, Mrs. Edmund Ruff, of National; and five grandchildren.

Note: Frances Matt is buried in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Garnavillo. She shares a gravestone with her husband Walter (1893-1969)
