Died. In St. Paul, Minn., at the residence of his son, Nov. 13, 1896, Horace Stoughton Hunt, aged 91 years and 8 months.

Deceased was born in St. Lawrence county, New York. He came to Iowa about 33 years ago, and resided in this portion of the state, [and was] for a term or two postmaster at Hardin.

Last October he visited with his daughter, Mrs. James Barnes and family, and with friends acquired during the 24 years of his residence in Clayton county and northern Iowa. When here he seemed in the full enjoyment of perfect health and for one of his age was vigorous and exceedingly lively. Returning to his son the life spark went out after a short and painless illness.

It was a quiet, happy closing of a long career; the once strong frame giving way to the wear and tare [sic] of years.

Eleven children survive the aged parent, Mrs. Jas. Barnes, of Monona, one of the number.
