Funeral services for Emma Louise Ruegnitz, Doctor of Chiropractic, of Denver, Colo., and a former Elkader resident, were held at the Witt funeral chapel Tuesday morning, July 5. The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the family lot in the East Side cemetery.
Miss Ruegnitz died in Denver, Colo., Thursday, June 30, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 7 days.
Emma Louise Ruegnitz was born Nov. 21, 1873, at Clayton, Iowa, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ruegnitz. She later moved with her parents to Elkader where she was graduated from the Elkader high school and later attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa. She had lived in Webster City, Iowa, Auburn and Tecumseh, Neb., where she had practiced chiropractic until three years ago. She also served as a civilian nurse in World War II. She was taken to Denver in 1945 to be under the care of her brother and wife, Dr. and Mrs. Louis Ruegnitz.
Miss Ruegnitz was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the German Lutheran church.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law-, Dr. and Mrs. Louis Ruegnitz, Denver. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were: H. J. Conrad, H. M. Wolf, H. C. Gme__, L. D. Dittmer, S. H. Powell and Fred Wistrick.
