CLIFFORD, IRWIN, ERWIN

Michael Clifford, living 3 1/2 miles east of town, near Beulah, died last evening of neuralgia of the heart. He was about 56 years of age, a citizen well and favorably known, a farmer well-to-do, an early settler; a soldier and a member of the Monona Post. - from the Monona Leader

Notes: Burial is in St. Mary's cemetery, McGregor; served in Co. B, 4th IA Inf. His first wife Mary died in March 1870 giving birth to a daughter Johanna. His second wife Ellen Erwin/Irwin is buried in the Monona City cemetery.
