Funeral services for Burnell Millard Olson, 6, who died Saturday, Feb. 5, 1949, were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon to the Highland Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. A. O. Nesset officiated. Burial was in the Highland Lutheran cemetery.

Burnell Millard Olson was born in Highland township May 11, 1942, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Olson. Two years ago he became ill with diabetes and was a patient at the children's hospital in Iowa City for six weeks but has since been in good health. Last Thursday he contracted a cold and his condition became worse. Saturday the family physician advised he be taken to the hospital where he had been a patient. But before they reached Manchester, he quietly died at the age of six years, eight months and twenty four days.

He was a member of the Highland Lutheran Sunday School and was in first grade at Kennedy School Dist. No. 6. He is survived by his parents; two brothers and three sisters, namely; Shirley Ann, Sheldon George, Linda Belle, Helen Mae, Paul Alvin, all at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Olson, and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were six cousins of the deceased: Bradly Anderson, Raymond Possehl, Bruce Possehl, Francis Possehl, Lloyd Baumgartner and Leland Olson.

Three cousins also served as flower girls. They were Karen and Barbara Possehl and Mary Ann Baumgartner.
