Fred Henning, a resident of this community, passed away at a hospital at La Crosse Monday, where he went to seek medical aid. He is survived by his widow and three children. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Evangelical church, with Rev. Franke officiating. Burial in the East Side cemetery.

Fred Hennig, of Boardman township, passed away at a hospital at Lacrosse, December 8th following an operation.
He was born at Stalluponen, Province of Prussia, Germany, on November 29, 1860. On the 16th day of March, 1890, he was united in marriage with Johanna Grohnert. They came to the United States in July 1903. For a number of years Mr. Hennig rented a farm and later purchased a farm near Elkader, where they have resided ever since.
Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hennig, five sons and two daughters, Frank, Anna, Fred, August, William, Otto, and Johanna, of whom Frank, Anna, August and Otto died in infancy.
He leaves to mourn his widow, two sons, Fred who is on the home farm, William resides at Finley, North Dakota, Johanna the wife of Martin W. Youngdahl residing in Chicago. His aged mother who has made her home with him for the past thirteen years. Two brothers, August in Germany and George residing on a farm near Kenaston, Saskatchewan, Canada. Three sisters, Mrs. Henry Fascher near Elkader, Mrs. C. Bank near Giard, Iowa, and Mrs. Minnie Roettner in Germany, also four granddaughters, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church Friday afternoon, Rev. Franke officiating. Burial in the East Side cemetery.
