Sarah Ellen Morrison, daughter of John and Madge Morrison, was born in Volga City, Aug. 15, 1859, and died at her home in Strawberry Point on Saturday, October 9th.

She lived with her parents in Volga City until eleven years old when they moved to a farm in Highland township. At the age of fifteen she began her first term of school, continuing in this work for fourteen consecutive years.

On Sept. 13th, 1888 she was united in marriage with Wm. Dunn at St. Mary's church, Strawberry Point.

They located on a farm in Sperry township which continued to be their home until about seven months ago, when they moved to town and here erected for themselves a beautiful home, where she might enjoy the fruits of her labor. But soon after, she became ill and until her death she had continually grown weaker, death relieving her of all earthly cares on October 9th.

To this union were born eight boys, one dying in infancy while the others were still connected with the home and together with a loving husband were present at her bedside when she died.

She died forfeited by all the rights of the church. She lived a good life and died a good death. In all her sufferings she was reconciled to the will of God. All that loving hands and loving hearts could do was done for her, but all in vain, for God wo willed it.

Funeral services were held from Sacred Heart church at Cox Creek on Monday and the requiem high mass was offered for the happy rest of her soul. Rev. Father Hartigan officiated.

Her remains were laid to rest in the family lot where he parents and all her relatives were buried. Funeral was largely attended. She was universally loved by all who knew her and a large circle of friends offer their sympathy to her sorrowful husband and children. - Mail-Press
