He was a member of St. Paul's church practically from its beginning and served in many ___________ positions on the church council. About four weeks ago he was taken sick with bronchitis and gradually grew weaker until he passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16th, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 14 days.

Deceased leaves three sons and two daughters; Louis of Clayton township, Mrs. Wilhelmina Kregel of Garnavillo, Henry of La Mars, John of Farmersburg township, and Mrs. Elizabeth Meyer of Garnavillo township; 22 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
