The funeral of Herbert Palas occurred Nov. 19 at the Lutheran church - Rev. Kumpf officiating. He was born Dec. 14 (year was absent) and has always lived at Luana. He will be greatly missed by his family. He was the next eldest son. In 1919 and 1920 he attended a tractor and automobile school, this knowledge proving very useful on his father's farm. He leaves to mourn his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Palas; his brothers Arthur Leroy, Henry LaVerne and (looks like Glen); sisters Mrs. Alfred (looks like Meyer), (rest of sentence and part of next sentence blurred), numerous relatives. The pall bearers were Lester Kamin, Lester Doerring, Orville Doerring, Harold Aulerich, Eldo Schutte and Felix Oldag.
