The subject of this sketch was born in England, July 4th, 1818 and died at his residence on October 4th, 1890, aged 72 years 3 months and one day.
In 1845 he left the mother country and took up his residence in Canada, where he followed the occupation of a farmer until 1865 when he came to Clayton county, locating on his farm in Cox Creek township where his death occurred.
He was married in Canada in 1851 to Elizabeth Ribbie, and to them were born nine children, all of whom with the mother are left mourn the loss of a kind husband and loving father.
Mr. Osborne has always followed the occupation of farmer, only resting from that work when confined to his bed by the sickness which proved fatal.
In 1878 he laid out a portion of his farm into town lots, and formed the village of Osborne, his residence being within the village limits. Mr. Osborne was highly respected by all who knew him, and his death will cause many to mourn for the loss of a true and tried friend.
The funeral took place on Monday, his remains being followed to their last resting place in the Mederville cemetery by a large concourse of friends.
Mrs. Thomas Osborne and family desire us to return their heartfelt thanks to the neighbors and friends who assisted them during the sickness and death of their husband.
