From the Germantown correspondence to the Seward, (Nebraska.) 'Democrat', we clip the following regarding the death of Louis Leibrock, brother of Charles Leibrock of this place:
The friends and neighbors of Louis Leibrock we startled on Sunday morning last by the information that he had met with an accidental death, his horse having fallen upon him on Saturday night while about to leave a neighbor’s house.
Mr. Leibrock was one of the early pioneers of Seward county, settling on the north branch of Middle creek in what is now known as M town. As a pioneer of a new and unsettled country, he endured all the hardships and privations attendant among the settling up of a new country in common with the other pioneers of Seward county.
His doors were always open to friend and stranger and his generous hospitality will be held in grateful remembrance by people from far and near. He was for many years assessor of H. precinct, which office he filled very satisfactorily, he also served honorably in the Union army in the war of the rebellion, thus contributing his share in bringing about an honorable peace.
Always of a gentle and friendly disposition, he won friends wherever he was known, who will regret learning of his tragic death.
Let us extend our heartfelt sympathies to his bereaved family and ever hold his memory in reverence.
