Elkader Register, Thur. 18 Sept. 1924. Fairview column.

Word has been received here of the passing away of Mrs. Virginia Beddoes* at the home of her daughter in Oelwein. Mrs. Beddoes was well up in years and had been in delicate health for a long time. Her body will be brought to her home here. No funeral arrangement has yet been made.

(Note: The correct surname spelling is Beddow. Burial is in the Bethel cemetery. Her gravestone is engraved 1851-1923, which is in error unless her death was reported very belatedly in the 1924 newspaper.)
