The death of William McTaggart occurred in the hospital at Waterloo Saturday evening. The remains were brought here and taken to the home of his uncle, Michael McTaggart. Funeral services occurred at the Sacred Heart church Tuesday morning conducted by Father Casey. Interment took place in the Cox Creek cemetery.

William McTaggart, resident of Clayton County for the last 32 years, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa, Saturday evening July 26, 1924. Death came as a relief after a lingering illness of several months duration.
Deceased was born in County Londonerry, Ireland, 65 years ago, the oldest son of Thomas McTaggart and Sarah McLaughlin. Thirty-two years ago Mr. McTaggart left the home of his birth and came to Clayton County, Iowa, and soon after became a citizen of the land of his adoption. The remainder of his life was spent with his brother James in Sperry township until they retired but recently.
The funeral took place Tuesday morning at ten o'clock from the Sacred Heart church, Cox Creek, and the edifice was filled with relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to the departed. The services both at the church and at the grave were conducted by the pastor, Rev. V. Casey, and interment took place in the nearby cemetery by the side of his younger brother who preceded him in death five years ago.
The casket bearers were his three brothers, George, James and Michael, and his three cousins, Michael, Joseph and John McTaggart.
Surviving are four brothers, George and Michael of Emerson, Nebraska, John of O'Neil, Nebraska, and James of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Other relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Kate Peters, Fairbanks, Iowa; Mrs. Eunice Cassidy, Elkport, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Funk and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McTaggart of Edgewood, Iowa.
William McTaggart lived a good, honest and upright life. By his toil and savings he was able to gather together a goodly amount of this world's goods. Surely this world is better by his living in it.- Volga City News.
