Charles F. Brooks, 86, formerly of McGregor, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at his home in Dunnellon, Florida.

Charles was born February 17, 1931, in McGregor, Iowa. He was the son of Robert and Ruth (Phillips) Brooks. Charles graduated from McGregor High school with the class of 1949.

On May 16, 1950, he was united in marriage to Joanne S. Loetz. Charles owned Brooks-Teaser Insurance and Real Estate in McGregor, retiring in the 1990s. He was a member of the McGregor Kiwanis and past president of the McGregor Building and Loan for many years.

Charles is survived by two sons, Joseph (Sharon) Brooks of McGregor and Robert (Amber) Brooks of Hernando, Florida; son-in-law, David Noesen; seven grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Erica, Kristen, Tiffany, Rachael, Robbie, Michael, and seven great-grandchildren, Trayvon, Trinity, Rodney, Malachi, Ma'Kaio, Sincre, and Gage.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joanne on Feb. 24, 2013; a daughter, Lynn Brooks Noesen, and a sister, Roberta Teaser.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in McGregor.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home, McGregor, Iowa.

Internment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, Iowa, is assisting the family with arrangements.
