Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Frank P. Garcken at the Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis Monday March 17th. Mrs. Garcken was formerly Miss Lillian Daugherty, the daughter of A. W. Daugherty, and was born in Elkader about 67 years ago. Her father lived here for nearly twenty years going to Dubuque in 1872. Mrs. Garcken has been a resident of Minneapolis for about 37 years. She is survived by her husband and a half-sister, Mrs. Otto J. Stein of Chicago.
