Marquette, Ia. - William Francis Budde, 66, died at the family residence Monday noon after a lingering illness. The body is resting at the McTaggert-Haudenshield Funeral Home, at Elkader, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock to St. Mary's Church, McGregor, at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Budde was born at North McGregor, now Marquette, on Sept. 30, 1877, and lived there his entire life. He was employed for several years as an engineer on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad, and for the past 27 years has been employed by the United States Bureau of Fisheries at Marquette.
Surviving are one brother, Julius, of Dubuque, and five sisters, Alice, of Chicago; Josephine, of Marquette; Sophia, of Devil Lake, N.D.; and Martha and Margaret, both of Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
