Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Feb. 1924. Strawberry Point column.
Last Friday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cordice, occurred the death of their daughter, Miss Esther Horn, aged twenty-three years, with that dreadful disease, tuberculosis. Miss Horn had been confined to her bed for some time and was given the best of care. Her death while not a shock to the family was a great blow as she was so young and always was so patient and endured her disease as best she could. The funeral services were held at the home Monday conducted by Rev. Frizzelle. Interment took place in the Maynard cemetery. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved ones.

I believe her father was William Horn and her mother Ida Henrietta Cordes. She had a sister Frances Jane Horn who was married to Leonidas G. Lennie Sargent for a short time, and later married Arthur Joseph Vincent Kringle.
