Our friend, Mrs. Anna Mason, mother of Mrs. Clyde Hinman, passed away Thursday evening following a stroke of paralysis the week previous. She had been spending the winter in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Paulson. The funeral occurred this morning, Monday, burial in the Hardin cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Mason, who has been staying at the Paulson home, was stricken with Paralysis, Tuesday, Feb. 5th. Her right side was paralyzed and she was unable to speak for some time. It was only with a great difficulty that she was able to swallow any food or take nourishment. She was very weak and at times did not know her relatives. For a time her condition did not change and then on Friday, Feb. 15th, she passed away.

Mrs. Anna Mason quietly passed away last Friday evenig at the hoe of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Paulson. She was born on May 27th, 1857. She reached the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 18 days. She was born, reared and has lived and spent her whole life in our own vicinity.

She was united in marriage to Milton D. Mason. They began their wedded life at Monona. In 1907 her husband preceeded her in death. Since then she has made her home with her children. Her end came as the result of a stroke of paralysis.

She was the mother of eight children of which one child preceeded her in death. She leaves in bereavement her son; Jerome Mason of Black Hills, S.D.; and her 6 daughters: Mrs. Margaret Paulson, of Monona; Mrs. Bessie Russell, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; Mrs. Cora Entwisle, of Lawler, Iowa; Mrs. Fay Welsch of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Mrs. Carrie Hinman of Luana, Iowa; as well as sisters Mrs. Wm. Shephard, of Postville, and Mrs. Cora Abel, of Pasadena, Cal., and 16 grandchildren and other relatives.

Her funeral services were held from the Martin Paulson home, Monday morning, conducted by Rev. J.B. Ackman. Internment was made at the Hardin cemetery.

Mrs. Anna Mason died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paulson, at Monona Friday and was buried in the Hardin cemetery Monday.
