Emma Viola Carnicle Childers, beloved wife of Joseph Childers, passed away at her home Wednesday, Dec. 26th, 1923, at the age of 26 years, 11 months and 26 days.
She was born December 31, 1896, at South Bend, Nebraska, and on May 25, 1910, was united in marriage to Joseph Childers at Elkader, Iowa. To this union seven children were born: Harold, aged 12; Vern, aged 10; Marvel, aged 8; Harlen, aged 5; Marcella, aged 3; Marvin, aged 2; and Junior, aged 15 days. Three sisters survive the deceased.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday, December 30th, conducted by Rev. W. J. Warner of the Congregational church. Burial was in the cemetery at Mederville.
