John Amann, who has been a resident of this city the past thirty-five years, passed away at 9:30 Wednesday morning, aged nearly eighty-three years. He had been ailing for a long time and for the two weeks previous to his death was unable to take nourishment of any kind. Previous to moving into town thirty-five years ago he owned and resided on a farm near here which later became the property of the late William Wolter. Mr. Amann was born in Rheni Bayern, Germany, May 19, 1824. He came to America in 1846 and three years later was married to Barbara Mohring at Syracuse, N.Y. They came west and settled on a farm in this township in the year 1854. The deceased is survived by his aged widow. The funeral will take place at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow, Friday afternoon, interment in the city cemetery.
