Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Nov. 1906.

Last Thursday at the home of his son-in-law, Chas. Klahr, near Mederville, occurred the death of Christian Thiede, aged 83 years and 11 months. Deceased was born in Germany and came to this country with his wife and daughter in 1884 to join three children who had emigrated earlier. He lived for a time at Littleport, then 12 years at Freeport, Ill., and since has been at the home of his son-in-law, Chas. Klahr. For the past four years he had been in poor health. His wife and the children are living. The funeral was held at Mederville, Friday, Rev. F. Leonhard, of Elkader, officiating.
