Anna Schuette nee Stender was born Dec. 1821, in Prussia, Germany. She was married to Henry Schutte [sic], who emigrated to this county in the 50th year of the past century. After her husband had gotten a home for his

family near Guttenberg, she, with the four children, came to America to join him. The direct cause of her death was, besides general debility of age, a stroke of paralysis which lamed her left side. May 9th the stroke was repeated paralyzing her left [sic] side also. After a struggle of eighteen days the Death Angel descended and released her from suffering. Burial took place June 1st, under the auspices of St. Peter’s church at Ceres. Rev. Bunge spoke in his usual impressive manner, bestowing upon her who has gone form our midst an eulogy [sic] well befitting the patient, suffering one. She leaves nine children [sic] among whom are Henry Schuette and Mrs. Gerhard Nieman, of Guttenberg.
