Funeral services for Mrs. Erva Amanda Koth Jarms were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the home and at 2:15 from the Methodist church. The Rev. Harley W. Farnham, pastor, officiated and burial was made in the city cemetery.
Mrs. Jarms was born March 7, 1884, in Wagner township and was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koth. She died Feb. 7, 1940, at the Community hospital in Postville. All her life she lived in Clayton county, attending grammar school and the local high school.
August 8, 1906, she married Frank L. Jarms, who, with one son, J. Glenn Jarms, survives her. Also three grandchildren, Glenna Joanne, Jimmy Jee and Jackie Jarms; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Rowland and Mrs. Alfred C. Pufahl of Garnavillo, and Mrs. John G. Ulish of Monona; and three brothers, Roy Koth of Monona, and Ross and Vern of Postville, survive her.
Mrs. Jarms was an active church worker, active in the Ladies Aid and Sunday school and in the Women's Relief Corp.
Pallbearers were Arthur F. Kaiser, John J. Reidel, Robert W. Jarms, Harry Pomeroy, Alfred Fett, Gustav A. Torowske, Harold C. Klinkel and Charles Haberichter.
