Harley A. Jones

Harley A. Jones died suddenly at his home Jan. 25, 1990, at the age of 75.

He was born near Postville, Iowa Jan. 23, 1915 to Harvey and Ida Nesteby Jones. He was raised and educated in the area, graduating from Postville High School in 1934.

He married Velma Behrens July 15, 1964 at Elkader, Iowa. He was a buttermaker in St. Olaf and Luana for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife Velma, 2 stepsons, David Conner of Stillwater, MN, and Michael Conner of Somerset, WI, a stepdaughter, Patricia Conner of Sauk City, WI, 13 step-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Mueller of Farmersburg, IA.

Services were conducted by Rev. Benjamin Davis at the Leonard-Witt Funeral Home, Elkader, Iowa.

Pallbearers were: Ronald Mueller, Jerome Carrroll (sic), Tracy Conner, Warren Mueller, Gary Conner, Bradley Christianson and Tom Whitney.

Burial was in U. B. Wagner Township Cemetery, rural St. Olaf.

Arrangements were made by Leonard-Witt Funeral Home, Elkader, Iowa.
