Elkader Register, Thur., 10 May 1906.

John Wolter, a well known citizen of Guttenberg, died Friday in that city, aged 7_ years (looks like 70, 76, or 78), 2 months and 15 days. He was born in Germany and came to New Orleans in 1847 and to Guttenberg in 1848, where he worked at his trade as a shoemaker. For a number of years past he has simply managed the property he had acquired. He was married in 1850, the wife dying in 1879, leaving three sons, Henry P. and Ben, at Aberdeen, S.D., and Frank X., at Guttenberg. They survive the father. The funeral was held Monday morning, Rev. Father Eikert, officiating.
