The funeral of Mr. Geo. Butts was held last Saturday [7/23/1910] afternoon and was quite largely attended although the busy time of the harvest. Mrs. Butts was not able to attend the funeral as her mother, Mrs. Wood, is very feeble and not able to take care of herself at this writing. A few of her neighbors assisted her oldest son Asa in cutting her grain so as not to lose the crop.

Geo. Butts, who has been living on the Al. Woods place, fell from a hay stack on Saturday morning, a distance of about twenty feet. He never regained consciousness and died this afternoon as a result of his injuries.
