Elkader Register, Thur., 8 Mar. 1906. Local News column.

A telegram was received here Monday announcing the death of Michael Heiden, a son of August Heiden, of Guttenberg, and a former resident of Elkader. No particulars were received with the telegram but a dispatch from Bismark, N.D., in Monday's Minneapolis Tribune says that he was burned to death in his home 16 miles east of Wilton, N.D. , presumably from the overturning of a lamp. There were no witnesses to his death as his wife and child were at Wilton. Two of his brothers, Barney and Fred, are residents of this township.- Argus.
