Julius Erastus Davis, who has been seriously ill for six weeks past, died at his home here early Tuesday morning, Feb. 27th, at the age of over 70 years. For a number of years he was in ill health but always bore his sufferings bravely and patiently. The funeral was held from the house Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Rev. Holden, of the Baptist church, officiating. Interment took place at the cemetery here. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Marshall, of Manistee, Mich., and Mrs. Helen Davis Haner, of Waverly. Another sister, Mrs. Rosanna McCo_l, died in September, 190_, at DeWittville, N.Y. Mister Davis' nieces, Mrs. W. H. Woodring and Daisy Haner, of Waverly, and Mrs. Davis' nephew, J. Evans Colton, of Mt. Vernon, Ia., were here to attend the funeral.
