George Johan Zurcher was born in Baden, South Germany, May 18th, 1856, was united in marriage to Ursula Huser in 1838. Seven children were born to this union, four sons and three daughters. He came to this country in 1864, settling near Farmersburg, where he lived for thirty-five years. For the past six years he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Lena Jarms, in Giard township, until the time of his death, which occurred January 29th, 1906, at the ripe old age of 90 years, 8 months and 11 days. His wife preceeded him in death twenty-five years ago, as did one son. He leaves to mourn his departure three sons and three daughters, forty-four grand-children and forty-six great grand-children. The funeral services were held Wednesday, January 31st, at eleven o'clock, at the Evangelical church, near Froelich, conducted by Rev. Hoag, of Monona. Burial in Farmersburg cemetery.
