Elkader Register, Thur., 1 Feb. 1906.
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kenneally in Cox Creek twp., on Saturday, Jan. 27th, 1906, occurred the death of John, their eldest son, of consumption. John was born Aug. 23rd, 1878, and at his death was aged 32 years and 5 months.
On Feb. 10th, 1902, deceased married Miss Mary Shoenhut, at Independence, Ia., where they resided. About two weeks ago John came home for a visit, when death claimed him sooner than was expected.
Deceased is survived by his wife, three brothers, and three sisters, and his aged parents. One child was born to him, but preceded him in death.
The funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart church in Cox Creek on Monday morning last, at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father Hartigan officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Cox Creek cemetery beside those of his brother Michael, who passed away about three months ago.
Our sympathy goes out to the aged parents and to the lonely wife in their great bereavement.
