Milo Jacobia
Funeral services for Milo Jacobia were held Tuesday, October 29, 1996 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend Wayne H. Hagen officiated. Special music was provided by soloist, Ronald Meyer, who was accompanied by Joann Martins, organist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
Milo Jacobia, son of Ray and Florence (Munger) Jacobia, was born March 12, 1915, on the family farm in Marion Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He died Friday, October 25, 1996 in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. He had reached the age of 81 years, 7 months and 13 days.
He was baptized November 27, 1915 by Pastor Isaac Cassel and confirmed March 17, 1940 by Rev. Frederick Ludwig at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Milo attended the Gunder country school and was graduated from Postville High School in 1931.
On December 22, 1937 he was married to Lillian Louise Radloff in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville. To this union a daughter, Judy, was born. The family has lived on their century farm near Gunder where Milo's father was also born. Milo moved to an apartment in Postville last winter. For the last 25 years, Milo and Lillian had traveled to Mesa, AZ, where they had lived during the winter months. They had also taken trips to other places including Hawaii and Cuba.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lillian, who died October 13, 1995, a grandson, Terry Meisner and a brother-in-law, Al Rankin.
Surviving is his daughter, Judy and her husband, Ronald Meisner, of Spring Valley, MN, four grandchildren, Teresa and her husband, Robert Davis, of Santa Fe, NM, Trent Meisner of Dubuque, IA, Timothy Meisner and his wife, Antje, of Madison Lake, MN and Troy Meisner and his wife, Novella, of Big Sandy, TX, six great grandchildren, Lindsey Meisner, Justin Meisner, Jonathan Davis, Grant Davis, Coulter Meisner and Micaela Meisner, three sisters, Dorothy and husband, Norman Raisch, of Meridian, ID, Lorayne and husband, Wayne Kesterson, of Houston, TX, and Carol Rankin of Lake Wood, CA, a sister-in-law, Donna Mae and husband, Milton Olson, of Postville, two brothers-in-law, Harley Radloff, Sr. and wife, Mary, of Chandler, AZ and VerDean Radloff and wife, Jean Ann, of Postville and many nieces and nephews.
Milo was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. He had served as a member of the Board of Directors of both the Luana Savings Bank and the Good Samaritan Center for many years.
Casket bearers were Jim Farmer, Malin Schultz, Alan Martins, Gerald Fassbinder, Maurice Landsgard, Richard Bente and Daryl Anderson. Honorary casket bearer was E. L. "Diz" Dean.
