In 1873 he was married to Carolina Staade. Until 1895 he lived on a farm in Read twp., then bought the Chas. Wedemeyer farm in Wagner twp., where he has since lived. He was the father of seven children, one of whom died in childhood. Those living are, Wilhelmine, wife of Wm. Schmidt; Anna, wife of Henry Wilke, and Fred, John, Ida and Else. The funeral was held last Thursday at the cemetery near the Nichols farm and was largely attended. Rev. Seifert delivered the sermon. Mr. Heiden was an honorable citizen and strove hard to gain a competence for his family.
