Strawberry Point- Funeral services for William Ferdinand Stapel, 57, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles Glode in Oelwein Friday, were held Sunday afternoon at the home of another sister, Mrs. S. F. Schoentag on the farm west of here, conducted by the Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Methodist Church.
Burial was in Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Mr. Staple, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schenck, was born in Strawberry Point Aug. 17, 1880.
Surviving are three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. S. F. Schoentag of Strawberry Point, Mrs. Carl Glode of Oelwein, Mrs. Andrew Steil of Moline, Ill., Fred and Arthur, both of Aurora, Fred of Atkins, and Ernest of Verona, Wis.

STRAWBERRY POINT: Funeral Services for Ferdinand Stapel were held Sunday Afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. S. F. Schoentag, two miles west of Strawberry Point, conducted by Rev. James P. Gable, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
William Ferdinand Stapel, son of John and Caroline Stapel, was born at Strawberry Point, Iowa, on Aug. 17, 1880, and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Carl Glode, at Oelwein, Friday morning. He attended the local public school. For many years he assisted in the City Meat Market when C. A. Schoeppe was proprietor, until he received a broken leg which compelled him to resign, and from which he never fully recovered. He never married. His parents have preceded him, also two sisters, Emma, dying in infancy, and Mrs. Mary Hart, in 1910. Surviving are three sisters and four brothers: Mrs. S. F. (Lena) Schoentag, Strawberry Point; Mrs. Carl (Bertha) Glode, Oelwein; Mrs. Andrew (Alice) Steil, Moline, Ill.; Fred Stapel, Atkins; Arthur Stapel and Theodore Stapel, Aurora, and Ernest Stapel, Derona, Wis.
