Death Of Mrs. James Geraghty.

It is with regret that we have to announce, this week, the death of the very estimable lady, whose name appears at the head of this article. For several months past she has been a sufferer from that dread disease consumption, but on Monday evening death came to claim his own, and released her from the cares and sorrows of this world.

Annie Kennedy was born in Queen's county, Ireland, April 9th, 1848, being nearly 35 years of age at the time of her death. When she was four years of age her parents came to the United States, locating in Pennsylvania, and finally came to Clayton county. In November, 1873, she was married to James Geraghty, of Read township, and by him has had six children, who with her husband are left to mourn the loss of a kind mother and affectionate companion.

The funeral took place at the Catholic church, Elkader, on Wednesday, and was largely attended by friends and relatives, her remains being laid away to their final rest in the Catholic cemetery at this place.
