Elkader Register, Fri., 12 Jan. 1883. Volga City Views column.

Died- At Volga City, on the morning of the 9th, Geo. S., only son of Wm. and Mary Hawthorne, of membraneous croup; aged 2 years and 9 months. He was only sick about 24 hours. This is a sad blow to Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorne. They have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
