Elkader Register, Fri., 12 Jan. 1883.

It becomes our duty to announce the death of Daniel Anderson, which sad event occurred at his home in Marion township on Friday, January 5th. Daniel Anderson was born in Sweden, from whence he emigrated to this country in 1853. For 24 years he has resided in Marion township, and was respected as a kind neighbor and an upright citizen. His wife died nine years ago, since which time he has continued to reside on his farm with his children.

His age was 64 years and death was caused by cancer of the stomach. Five grown children are left to mourn the loss of a kind father. The funeral on Tuesday was largely attended, the remains being buried in the Lutheran church cemetery in Wagner.
