At his home in Marion township on Saturday, Oct. 3d, occurred the death of Lars Jensen. Mr. Jensen was born in Dramen, Norway, Feb. 28th, 1816, hence had reached the venerable age of over 87 years. He came to America in 1856, residing in Illinois until 1865 when he came to Marion township, purchased a farm and has since resided there. His wife died in 1896 and he was married again in 1901, his second wife surviving him.

Mr. Jensen was the father of five children, Jens Larson, of Minnesota; Halvor and Peter Larson, of Highland twp.; Thorwald, of North Dakota; and Mrs. Caroline Amansun, of North Dakota, all of whom are living. Jens, Halvor and Peter went to the Civil War from their home in Illinois, the family thus contributing their share to the defense of their adopted country.

Mr. Jensen was an honorable, respected citizen and was well known in the community. The funeral services will be held Wednesday at the Marion church, Gunder, of which Mr. Jensen was a member.
