Ezekiel Moody was born in Carroll county, Ohio, December 9, 1822 where he grew to manhood.
In 1848 he was united in marriage to Miss N.S. Call. Seventeen children were born to them, six sons and three daughters survive with their mother; 4 brothers, John, Dave, Jonathan and Eleck and 2 sisters, Mrs. ?.W. Wood and Mrs. Sam DeHaven.
Deceased and wife came to Iowa in 1849 and settled in Clayton county, Mendon township on the old homestead where they resided until a few years ago when they moved to town and resided on Garnavillo avenue.
He has been in fairly good health so that his wife went to visit one of their sons at Oelwein about a week ago. He was taken sick and a telegram called the good wife to his bed side Friday.
He passed away Monday August 17, 1903 at the ripe old age of 81 years. He will be laid to rest this afternoon, services from the late home. Rev. Francis officiating. Thus another pioneer has passed to the beyond.
