The 9 year old son of James Crawford was drowned at about 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The body was found an hour after. He was trying to swim with three other little boys who knew little about swimming. It is a hard blow, especially as the mother was just taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Funeral of Charlie Crawford, the little boy that was drowned, was held at the Methodist church Friday morning, Rev. D. C. Dutton officiating. The mother was taken from the hospital to attend the services and then returned there. She is standing the trouble with Christian fortitude. A subscription was taken among the citizens amounting to $75 to assist them in their sore need.
