Thomas Victoria was born in the village of Skalach, Bohemia, Nov. 28, 1832, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Houska, May 7, 1903. He came to this country with his family in the fall of 1874 and settled in Cox Creek township, Clayton county. Ten years later his wife passed to the other shore. He moved shortly after to the home of his daughter where he has since made his home. The same year he received a stroke of paralysis from which he never entirely recovered. For ten years he has been confined to his bed. During his sickness he bore his sufferings with patience; with implicit trust in his Savior's will until death came to his relief. He leaves to mourn his death three children, Mrs. Mary Houska, Miss Anna and Frank Victoria who lives in Los Angeles, Cal.
The funeral was held at Sacred Heart church, Strawberry Point, Friday, May 8th, Rev. Father Rowe conducting the rites, and the remains were laid to rest in the Cox Creek cemetery.
